I second this — I left an art museum for a huge university, and I now make more than some of my friends in finance and I’m getting an MBA for free…

I totally understand the resentment — I went to school to work in the arts and could barely hold it together after 2 years in the field. Living and breathing for the organization you work for and getting very little in return isn’t all it’s cracked up to be (at least it wasn’t for me). Jobs are for money — something it took me YEARS to realize.
