First “Chicago Stories” Podcast features Mayor Emanuel and Haymarket Brewery

You’ve heard of Chicago Fire, P.D., Med and Justice. Now, get ready for “Chicago Stories.” Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is launching a new podcast where he meets with everyday Chicagoans and special guests in his office at City Hall and hears their stories of the Windy City.

Chicago is world-renowned for its caliber of food and drink, and its thriving microbreweries are no exception. Our first guest is Haymarket Brewery, one of the Mayor’s favorite local craft breweries led by Pete Crowley, a pioneer and decorated brewer with more than 50 awards, including gold medals from the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival.

Mayor Emanuel — an avid craft beer fan—sat down with Mike Gemma, Haymarket’s Director of Operations, and Trevor Hagen, Brewer, to learn more about their take on Chicago’s brewery scene. They met with the Mayor mid-brewing and swapped stories of their deep love of beer, Chicago and the brewing process. Take a listen.
