Untitled.
Lately, I’ve been feeling a myriad of emotions which I have been unable to fully express. Last night, things came to a head and the result is this Medium post. Amidst the clouds and the fog, I thought it would do me some good to reflect on the things that let some sunshine through.

If you think the smell of coffee in the morning is heavenly, then you’ve never been awakened by freshly baked treats. You know which of them instantly makes my insides warm? Muffins. Slightly rounded, moist and delicious; cupcakes have got nothing on these mounds of goodness. My favourite varieties include carrot , red-velvet and blueberry. Yum.
Music… gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness and life to everything. — Plato(?)
When I feel sad, alone or in despair, I tune out and plug in. Music has been my solace since I was a tot with an unbalanced gait. Music breaks barriers to connect people. From the sultry sounds of Brandy Norwood, to the husky tunes of Toni Braxton, the sheer power of Whitney Houston and the magnificence of Michael Jackson - music conveys emotion, expresses passion and desire in ways that I cannot. It shields me, consoles me, encourages me, and even if only in that moment, makes everything better. These days, Latino music seems to be my fortress. Plus they make for an excellent workout soundtrack.

Yogurt has a place in this eulogy, and honestly, I can’t explain it. I eat the stuff nearly everyday and I love it. What makes it all better is how healthy it’s supposed to be - just check out the nutritional fact sheet. The best thing? You can toss nearly anything in it. My add-ins of choice are fruit (banana, strawberry, grapes or pineapple), oats(as plain rolled, muesli or granola), honey or chia seeds.
Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind - Patanjali.
I cannot downward dog to save my life, nor can I hold plank without vibrating into a pile on the floor - I still do yoga anyway. I do it because it gives me a deep stretch which eases the tension working out at my shape, size and dietary practice causes. In the time that I am focusing on perfect form and breathing in the right pose, my mind is calm and light shines through it. The soundtrack is also usually wonderful, so this is 30 minutes care-free.
There is no path to happiness: happiness is the path.- Buddha
Well Buddha, let’s hope you’re right.
