Last week, there were numerous reports that OpenAI was about to release a major update. Rumors suggested that the ChatGPT maker planned to enhance its chatbot’s capabilities and enter new markets by launching a competitor to Google Search.

“GPT-4o reasons with speech, text and vision,” Murati said during a keynote address at the OpenAI offices. To make it smarter, the OpenAI team added new technology behind the voice mode so people can talk to ChatGPT using a microphone.
