30 Years as a Dog Trainer: Chris Banke

Back when he was a teenager, Chris Banke discovered his strong interest in training German Shepherds. Once he discovered this, he studied hard to become a trainer. At the tender age of 19, he even founded his own dog training company, which he called “Chris Banke Protection Dog Trainer.” He also went on to found his own breeding kennel and he now works steadily as a highly regarded independent trainer and handler for the motion picture industry and pet people alike.

Some 30 years later, that facility is alive and well and still located in Northern Vermont. Chris Banke’s training methods are so effective that he and his own dog, “Dino von der Maineiche” were once recipients of the second highest Schutzhund/IPO III in the United States with a trial score of 297. In addition to that success, he and Dino worked on the film, “Frozen River,” which was later nominated for an Academy Award for 2008. If you need to train a dog for almost anything from law enforcement to entertainment or just to be a better pet, Chris Banke is the trainer for you.
