Here is another exploration piece. It’s subject is my work habit and plans.
So let’s cover something here and say that I know I have a lot of problems. One of them being procrastination. Part of the reason why I like Snapchat is because it makes it really easy to work.
At any time during the day, I can whip out my phone, snap, and go back to my busy day. I’ll have to optimize it, and find a way to make sure it becomes a part of the daily work strategy, and that’s why I’m here right now. So, let’s begin by telling you the story of CADs Academy and how the daily grind looks in my head.
First off, we’ve established that the concept of CADs Academy is simply a school of thought the produces content to generate contextual learning. The object is to do good in life and find a way to do so profitably of course. Since I can’t just “do good” and get paid for it, I needed to get a sense of practicality involved.
The interesting thing in this for me however is this: I’m a critical thinker and I’ve done some of my best work NOT asking questions that everyone else asks. So let’s back up a step and not make the assumption that I cannot just “do good” and get paid for it.. Why not? Why can’t I go out there and do good things, help people, and get enough money to life comfortably, pay my bills and grow the business?
Maybe I can! In fact, let’s find out how! And so set off the journey of CADs Academy.. So what is a typical day? Well, like I said above, CADs Academy is about that contextual development. So every day I need to provide you content that generates context. This content needs to be “good” in nature. And let’s not forget that I believe HEAVILY in potential.
All I really need to know in life is that we’re all capable of.. magic. Question is, what’s practical, vs what’s possible? And this is the answer I’m looking to answer. How can I, in this paradox of sitting here trying to find the answer, answer how to make a living answering the question of potential?
Of course I don’t know the answer, but here is a couple ideas..
First, I need to provide you with the value I keep talking about known as contextual development. This means I need to write and tell the story, find answers and share them.
So far, I’ve written a book about it and done A LOT of blogging. Google “CADs Fundamentals + Amazon” for the book. And I need to keep building this content. In my last post on Medium I wrote about how there were three types of content that I would be generating. It seems as if the content driven path to success here is my creative process.
So the problem is not my creative process, it’s my ability to stay on track and treat it like a work process. Obviously, why I need Snapchat. So here are a few thoughts. If the whole idea of CADs Academy is for me to think critically about life and offer my perspectives as forms of content to generate contextual development for you, then I need to spend more time doing this learning and thinking, and more time creating.
It seems clear that the more I do these things, the more value I give, and the more I offer, the more you can have. The question now is, how do I make money from this, right? Well I can tell you this, that answer is a resounding no. When it comes to the creative process and living a life where you’re doing things you love, it’s not always about finding the easiest path to money and exploring it.
When I get to this point, I stray off into a land where I’m thinking about how many books I can sell, then I get suckered into questions of optimization, web development, marketing and growth hacks. Again, that is NOT where I want to be. Where I want to be is much more genuine, silo’d and specific to my daily goals. So I return to the concept of spreading my thoughts through osmosis, coaching and other forms of micro content and groups.
The definition of this would be, a school of thought. And here we are, back at the beginning. How we build a school of thought is to think and generate content which gives context, allowing other people to mesh themselves into your thoughts and become partly in agreeance with your ideology.
For the moment, I’ll leave you with this. Next time maybe I get more practical and talk about books and stuff. The answer for this post? Just think more, write more, develop, create, generate, produce and collect. It’ll grow into an empire, piece by piece.
