I’m still all-in on Firebase even with these limitations. I’ve found work-arounds for everything that bugs me. I export data to Algolia for search, run firebase-queue on a VPN for my reactor functions and do offline with Redux and localStorage.
I’d hoped that another PaaS would come along that solved all of those problems, but since RethinkDB the company died, it’s looking like DB startups just can’t make money in this environment. Instead of searching for an alternative, I’m implementing my work-arounds and waiting for Firebase to mature. It’s slow, but it’s happening.
