One might argue it takes bribery, but you couldn’t possibly appropriate lobbying as the equivalent of such… We have seen it with Uber, who argue that they have found a loophole when in reality they are post-rationalising their progress with attorneys. Not a bad business model if you can build the market and then defend it with lawyers. I suspect we will see the same thing with future artificial or augmented intelligence. The government will try to catch up but they can’t stop relentless progress as you note.
