Minimalism game: Days 8, 9, and 10.
This is starting to get a lot easier. So, I want let of 27 unused, unloved, under appreciated items to reach the target for days 8, 9 and 10. I don’t want to include items from the storage unit just yet, so I hunted around the house and came across my game collection.
The term collection is often used instead of the word hoard. If I said, here is my hoard of games, (many of which I have not played in 6 months (more like 12) I would probably have seen this “hoard” as something negative and done something about it. But in our consumer driven economy we used the term “collection” as it sounds better, and we justify ourselves into getting more to add to the “collection”
Now, if I were in the gaming industry and or earned an income from games, or even if I spent most of my leisure time playing these games, it would be fine to keep some/most/all if need be, the games I own. But alas, I am not in the gaming industry and I don’t spend much time at all playing video games, not to say I don’t enjoy them, I do, it’s just they are very low on my list of priorities. And this is the corner stone of minimalism, keying into what is a priority in your life, discarding or at least minimising what isn’t.
So with all these games (see picture) ear marked for charity donation, that bumps the number up in one hit and I quickly find the 27 items that I no longer need or have use for in my life.
So I am on a roll. So I had Sunday penned in as the day to tackle the storage shed. I am a fair few days ahead in this game, so why not keep going. So let’s get in there and tick off days 11, 12, and 13.
