I couldn’t agree with you more, Senator Gillibrand. We cannot forget the survivors and first responders who continue to experience serious health issues that stem from their time at Ground Zero. They are the ones who rushed toward danger when they were needed and who worked in the long weeks and months that followed on the recovery effort. 9/11 was a national tragedy, and we have a solemn responsibility to ensure that the men and women who put their lives on the line for us receive the care and support they need. If we fail to pass the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act we should be ashamed.
