4 Creative Resources For Church Creative Teams
Ever been in dire need of creative ideas? I know I have! I live and work in New York City and I’m even apart of an incredible church and I still need inspiration sometimes. I have listed 5 blogs below, that I personally use, to help me break through a “creative slump” and get creating again. The first one may not be a blog and it may even be thought of as stupid, mundane, or not really relevant, but it so crucial as Christians that we get a daily dose of this daily.
1. The Bible

The Bible mentions the word creativity 41 times. God, the maker of the unvierse designed us. “So God did just that. He created humanity in His image, created them male and female.”(Genesis 1:27) He created and placed the stars in the sky, he created Yosemite National Park that we view daily on our Mac products(if you have one). He even created the very air that we breathe. Do you think for one moment that the God, the ultimate creator, who created all of this would leave us without the last benefit of His creation? No! God created us in His image so we get to be apart of the 5-fold creation benefit as I like to call it. Love, Grace, Patience, Kindness, and yes CREATIVITY! The Bible is the ultimate source of creativity. If we merely look at the cover of the Bible we will only see leather….the creativity comes when we read, realize and experience the words written on the pages.

2. Hillsong Collected

I have looked up to Hillsong Church for a long time and they acually inspired me to become a singer-songwriter. A few days after that revelation, I soon realized that was not my calling! Haha.
I strongly believe that God strategically places desires and specific passion in our heart. We must identify what those passions are and develop them into what God designed them to be. I wanted to specifically thank Rich and Cassandra Langton for being mentors to me. Though I have never met them, but have had Twitter conversations with them, they consistantly push me creativly to see a different side of things and I am forever grateful.

3. Highlands Creative

The Mother Ship and Launching Pad as I like to call it. I graduated Highlands College in 2014 and I am now serving as a Creative Producer at The New York Dream Center. I am forever thankful to Pastor Chris Hodges, Pastor Kellen Coldiron, Matt Minor, Greg Mckinney, Mattye Woodcock, and John David Wright for developing me as a leader, walking alongside me and my sometimes stubborn self, as I find my God-given calling and passions, and helping me grow closer to Jesus.
Highlands Creative does a great job at resourcing people in a excellent and professional way while having fun at the same time.
4. LifeChurch.TV
