DAY 1: Why I’m trading SnapChat accounts with Kaitlin Moose || #StrubSnapSwaps

From Feb. 27 to April 16, Chris Strub will trade his SnapChat account with 50 different SnapChatters from around the globe. Add ChrisStrub on SnapChat to meet them all. During the 50 days, a portion of the proceeds from sales of Chris’s book will go to the nonprofits Chris visited during the #TeamStrub 50-state, 100-day journey. See the full list of NPOs that Chris visited here. On Feb. 27, the nonprofit beneficiary will be the Carolina Youth Development Center in Charleston, S.C.

When I came up with the idea of trading SnapChat accounts with friends in all 50 U.S. states, the first thing that came to mind was: damn, I don’t have the perfect person for South Carolina.

But a few weeks ago, I published an article called 10 SnapChatters The World Needs to Know (a few of whom will appear during this 50-day event!).

That article became fairly popular on Twitter, and it caught the attention of a young woman named Kaitlin Moose. Kaitlin reached out to me via SnapChat to say hi, and we’ve become friends since.

As it turns out, Kaitlin lives in Greenville, S.C. — the city I called home from Sept. 2014 to Oct. 2015. I left Greenville last fall because I couldn’t find a job there, but my heart is, in many ways, still there.

I adore Greenville, S.C., for many reasons — but primarily the people. Kaitlin Moose is the perfect representative of a growing, vibrant community tucked into northwestern South Carolina that I strive to call home again someday.

As you’ll see on my SnapChat on Feb. 27, Kaitlin Moose is equipped with a warm smile and a keen sense of humor. I have no doubt that her acting career will take her far whenever she’s ready to return to the City of Angels.

I’m also a big believer that SnapChat would be an ideal medium for CVB’s to embrace to interactively show the soul of its community. Kaitlin will Snap around Greenville, S.C. — the perfect city to possibly be the first (that I know of, please correct me in the comments if I’m wrong!) to integrate SnapChat as a full-time marketing strategy.
