DAY 13: Why I’m trading SnapChat accounts with Tristan Griffiths || #StrubSnapSwaps

From Feb. 27 to April 16, Chris Strub will trade his Snapchat account with 50 different Snapchatters from around the globe. Add ChrisStrub on SnapChat to meet them all. During the 50 days, a portion of the proceeds from sales of Chris’s book will go to the nonprofits Chris visited during the #TeamStrub 50-state, 100-day journey. See the full list of NPOs that Chris visited here. On March 10, the nonprofit beneficiary will be Big Brothers Big Sisters of Las Cruces, N.M.

What is the Digital Nomad Project? Get excited to meet Tristan Griffiths to find out!

Are you ready to take this project global? I sure am.

Meet Tristan Griffiths, the first of multiple Australians (I won’t give any more hints) you will meet during the #StrubSnapSwaps endeavor.

Tristan is a young man whose heart is outgrowing his body. And Tristan’s adoration for his Snapchat audience is extraordinary; in fact, the support he’s received from his hard-built community inspired him to head out on what he’s coined the “Digital Nomad Project,” a once-in-a-lifetime, don’t-you-wish-you-had-the-guts-to-try-that type of adventure powered purely by social media. (Sound familiar?)

It’s no surprise Tristan and I both gravitate, then, to our common friend Blake Croft, and if you missed my article about Blake, read that to get a sense for how Tristan also feels about his community. In fact, Tristan and Blake now work together under the umbrella of All Things Networking, Tristan’s company.

Everyone I’m swapping Snapchat accounts with provides extraordinary value to their audiences, but a few stand out: Blake; Austin Iuliano; Caleb Maddix; and Tristan. (Oh, there’s more, but I don’t want to give away all the surprises yet, right?)

Tristan and I are similar in even more ways than Snapchat; he’s a distance runner, an amateur chef and very much — I hope he doesn’t mind me saying this, but I am, too — a Momma’s boy. (You’ll often see Tristan’s Mom hanging on Periscope; meanwhile, my book is dedicated to my Mom!)

So here we go, Tristan, we’ll make our Moms proud by making some international magic happen on day number lucky 13. I’m certain there will be a little map-reading, too — I’m still not certain I could point out Sydney on a map, and I wonder if Tristan will be able to find Las Cruces, N.M. Can’t wait!

I’m going to hang out with some darn cool people on Tristan’s channel. Can’t wait to meet all of you!
