First off, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for allowing me to be here in this very moment. I owe my all to him forever and always. Nothing less.
Second, My family, my backbone, the people that hold me up. Without their support through all my tough and great times, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
There are so many more people that I could thank for allow me to be in their lives. I’m beyond blessed with great people who care and support me through everything.
Through my short 24 years here, I’ve learned a ton.
I’ve learned there are a lot more negative voices out there that are much louder than the positive voices. Though there may be many positive things happening on a daily basis, we choose to pay attention to the negatives. This needs to change.
Having a strong network and support system is essential in any path you decide to take. Even at your lowest points, having a network and people that support you will allow you to have a way out. Never stop meeting new people. Never forget who helped you get where you are. Never disregard meeting someone. You never know who they might become.
Give without expectation. Be nice without expecting others to be nice in return. Hold the door open without expecting a “thank you” in return. Invite people out without expecting them to invite you next time. Give donations to charities and causes without expecting it to be noticed. Always do the right thing.
I’ve learned that life is not as linear as we think it is. Too many of us are impatient to work hard for 10 years to get to where we want to be. Instead we’ll take a job that makes us look good and pays decently so we’re happy in the short term and not in the long term. Life is what you decide to make it. You can do what you love if you’re willing to work for it.
Money is not as important as we think it is. The most important thing to me is how I make the people around me feel. Cause they’ll remember that. Money will come and go. The relationships and impact you make on peoples lives? You can’t measure that.
I just started my journey of entrepreneurship. It’s not going to be easy, but I know it’s what I’m meant to do. I don’t know everything about business, but I can’t let that hold me back. I’ll learn as I continue to put my trust in the lord, work hard, network and grow everyday.
I appreciate everyone that said happy birthday through text, Facebook or in person. All of you have had a impact on my life and where it’s going. There’s a lot more I want to do to try and make this world a better place and spread God’s love. I’m only 24 and I’m in no rush.
