About Improving Medium
Something I would really like to see on Medium is a profile slider similar to the one in Super (the app of the Twitter co-founder, not the Super Mario ☺). It would be an innovative way to showcase what you are all about in a mobile optimized way.
Another useful feature would be to showcase social media profiles from other networks. I understand that you do not want readers to move away from Medium but would it not be faster to connect with people on other networks by hitting a button instead of having to google them?
A neat thing to do in addition to that would be to provide icons users could use in the text such as an Instagram icon. So instead of saying “check this out on Instagram”, you could insert “check this out on XZYICON”. This is not something any other network does at this point in time and it would be unique to Medium — and promote simplicity which is what Medium is about.
One thing that has been bothering a bunch of users: Inability to delete collections
There is no way to delete a collection. First of all, if you had looked at all collections as you claim, you would have realized how many collections are begging you to delete them. Just search “how to delete a medium collection” on Google:

The first link leads to an outdated help guide from 2013 written by Medium which refers to a delete button that no longer exists. The second link — and countless other links below that are actually collections that have the title “Medium, please delete this collection” or “where is the delete button for medium collections”, “cannot delete medium collections” and so on.

I am hoping that this will change because there are a bunch of people who created collections, saw it would not work for them and are now stuck with them. Not ideal for personal branding which is to my knowledge one of the reasons why people sign up for Medium in the first place.
That said, I much prefer publications to collections, awesome update! 👍 Thank you so much.
