The Outsider

I smile, I walk

Through this life

Through these dreams

My face is a shade of belief

I watch the people

Walk by

Drive by

Stand by

Live by

Nothing and everything in between

It’s these moments

Of smiles

Of tears

Of fears

That break us — that bring us

To understanding

We know

What that person feels

Why we also are alone

The people bend

The crowd breaks

The voices cry out

Their words are

pictures, text and such

Their heart?

The actions

That separate us apart

Push against the gates

And I watch them heave

their words and stones

I watch the mouth open

And the crowd rushes in

In between the waves

Separated by faith

The sea in which they sleep

Is made of belief

And the one who watches

From an outside view

Watches the waves wash over his feet

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
