In the first weeks of Dare to Chalenge lab,my fellow students (Charis Zarbalas, Danai Lyratzi, Asimina Christodoulatou, Martha Davari) and I, figuered out what we were going to develop as a project and let there be light, the Safe and Sound project. With the guidance of Betty Tsakarestou we discovered that we should focus more on our product and point the solutions that our project provides. My role is to analize and highlight the solutions that safe and sound app, enables.

First of all in order to provide safe distances, our app processes the maps of Athens via Google Maps and via Google sattelite images it keeps track of the most enlighted roads of the city center. In addition our priority is to guide the user not only through enlighted but crowded roads as well. So our app looks for WI-FI spots from bars, cafe and restaurants that are being used at the moment, in order to navigate the user through the most crowded locations and arrive to he’s/she’s destination.

The last and most important feature of our app, is the ‘’Red Button’’. This feature will be placed in the bottom of the application and when our user is or believes he is in danger can press it. Within minutes, a signal from your phone will be sent to the phone-contacts that our user previously will have selected. In a second basis the applicatation will indicate the nearest police department in order our user to seek for help.

This Application’s Minimum Value Product is to reach your destination safe and unharmed. The above features help and contribute to achieve this goal. In conclusion we must say that the purpose of this application is to avoid any pathogenic phenomenon souch as rape, violence or mugging incidents.
