Honestly, it’s probably really great to complete a set for the couple. If they get seven wine glasses, they’re gonna go out and buy the eighth.

The worst thing, I’d say, is something totally frivolous when there’s less-frivolous things on the registry. Don’t get a nice-to-have when there’s must-haves left.

That said, get the fun indulgence. I try to get the highest-priority gifts I can. Sometimes that’s an indulgence and sometimes it’s towels.
