Outside In
I have never really done this before nor have I ever had a life changing event that was worth sharing. About 9 months ago, my husband (boyfriend then) and I had plans to go explore South East Asia: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos. We were going to go view the beaches, the mountains, the party scene, get tattoos, eat food, everything under the foreign sun. It would have been my first time traveling outside of the U.S. The day before we were going to leave we had a huge disturbance from the cops. They had raided us because one of his childhood friends was caught doing drugs and “HAD” to give someone up. It was a disaster, everything was broken, cops were telling the neighbors to go into the house to grab whatever they want before they board it up (nobody did), but the best part was they took all of my travel underwear. Fortunatly for me I am innocent and have a very clean record. Anyway, when I was told to leave, Baby looked at me and said, “Go to my mom’s.” It was all he could say, the cops told us not to talk to each other. I then threw all of my crap into my car and drove off. I only had just met his mom twice so I really had no idea how to tell his mother, “Hey your son just got taken by the cops…” So I waited at a park near her to figure out how to break the news, I called my best friend to ease my mind. After an hour of procrastinating, I knew I had to go tell her. She stayed calm to explain to me what I should do and that if I wanted to I could stay there instead of staying with my parents, which were very judgmental. He was in for about 2 days with his roommate, but when I picked them up I was so relieved that all the weight on my heart just lifted away.
This man is the most selfless man I have ever met. He will literally take the clothes off of his back for someone, trust me, I have seen him do it. Very smart, outgoing, motivational, hilarious… I just want to share this journey with everyone, because I know I’m not the only one going through some hardship with their relationship…
Every week I will post about being on the outside looking in. Yesterday, June3, 2016 at 2pm, he was taken into custody for 60 months… Very emotional day. We have been trying to do everything that we could to cut his sentencing down. Bail was $25000, first lawyer was $5000, second was the same, and now we have a big shot lawyer to help him while in there, he is $2000 just to show up and $500 for reviewing transcripts. It has been a crazy roller coaster, but it will get better when he’s back here with his family.
Well, this all im writing until next week, you don’t have to follow up but since he won’t be able to get visitation or phone calls until he gets sent out of county, I will just basically be talking about what happened these past 9 months.
Good week..
