Your words resonant with me. The paternal rage against the most basic parts of a child’s existence --the need to eat, pee,ask questions.

I learned to be wary when I couldn’t be invisible. At 38, I’m still working out how to speak about those most basic needs. It’s complicated my marriage, which is still young, in so many ways. Because my husband never experienced the need for invisibility it he hears my evasiveness as deception. It’s hard and new to see myself in the eyes of someone who actually wants to know about me…
