How to not focus on your work throughout the day

This was pretty easy — I just examined my own thoughts throughout today, and ended up with this list. These are the actual thoughts of a 21-year-old who works from home. I think I have issues.

So here’s how to not focus on your work throughout your day:

//Keep up social media tabs or, even worse, Reddit.

“I know I have to type this, but my phone just told me Spencer added a new photo. What if its a picture of his dog? Or even better, something about Pokemon?”

-or-

“I have an opinion on how good Halo 5 is, but I gotta know what other people think. I wonder what r/halo thinks…”

//Get (hungry) bored.

“I wonder if Hannah got any tuna at the store yesterday… Well now I have to go check!” *gets up from work, proceeds to make tuna salad*

//Listen to the perfect “working music.”

“Okay, super pumped to write this article. But what playlist would gloriously match my victory today? Time to check Apple Music.”

“I think Kanye is the best, but Drake is really good too. I wonder if someone created a playlist combining and comparing them. Time to check Spotify.”

//Get reeeeeeal comfortable.

“I could work in my office but the couch is so nice! Wait, did my Xbox just turn on by itself? Better grab the controller to turn it off…”

“The atmosphere in my office just isn’t doing it for me today…off to the coffeeshop!”

//Spend abnormally long amounts of time on insignificant things.

“You know what I haven’t done in awhile? Take a 45 minute shower.”

These are only a few of the things I struggle with every single day, but as I continue to learn and grow, so will my focus!
