Las Vegas City Council will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m. at City Hall. 495 S. Main St. Below are some agenda items that may be of interest. Get the agenda here. Watch live at kclv.tv/live.

Agenda Item 15 — Historical Documentary Filmmaking Services: A funding request in the amount of $200,000 was approved by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial at the July 30, 2018 Commission meeting for the production of a documentary film detailing the earliest years of the city. This contract provides for one documentary film to be delivered as a work for hire. The selection of Boyd Productions was the result of a competitive proposal process. Per the operating agreement with the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, any funding over $100,000 must have council ratification. Boyd Productions, LLC is located in Connecticut.

Agenda Item 19–2019 Municipal Election: Article V of the Las Vegas City Charter and Nevada Revised Statutes, where it can be made applicable and is not inconsistent with the Charter, govern the conduct of elections for the City. Since our municipal elections are under the control of the City Council, it is appropriate at this time for the City Council to formally order the 2019 Municipal Election. The order sets forth the offices to be voted upon by the registered voters of the City and establishes the Primary and General Election dates. After adoption by the City Council the Clerk’s office will proceed with required preparations. The Clerk’s Office will again provide an election website to assist voters, candidates and people seeking general information about our election.

If approved, the mayor will proclaim the following:

- Primary election will be held on Tuesday, April 2

- If needed, a general election will be held on Tuesday, June 11

Elections will be held for Mayor as well as the Wards 1, 3 & 5 council seats.

Agenda Item 41–2019 Session of the Nevada Legislature: The city is a member of the Nevada League of Cities and Municipalities, which was originally incorporated as the Nevada Municipal Association on October 30, 1959. Wes Henderson, Executive Director, will provide an update on the 2019 (80th) Session of the Nevada Legislature and current League activities.

Agenda Item 55 — Short Term Rentals: If adopted at this meeting, this bill amendment will limit short-term residential rentals to dwelling units that are owner-occupied, have no more than three bedrooms and are not closer than 660 feet to another short-term residential rental. It will also eliminate the ability to obtain relief from those limitations by means of a special use permit application.
