None of us are being anywhere near “responsible” in the greater scheme of things. Though we’re getting better. If it mostly or primarily serves to benefit yourself, don’t bother calling it responsible. If you’re told you’re doing something specifically to benefit the world but you can’t trace and measure that benefit, even that is irresponsible. Maybe this can lend a bit of perspective.
