Going to start this thing called blogging

So, let me start off by saying that I’m not the greatest (or even okay) writer in the world but I feel like its important to put my thoughts on paper. Please dont judge me on my writing! :)

My name is Clarence and I’m the founder and CEO of Upsie. (Upsie.com) We are focused on solving the extended warranty problem that consumers deal with when they are buying a new product at the register. Here’s something explaining how the industry works. https://upsie.com/how-it-works/ Its a big ($40B) opportunity in the US and we feel that Upsie is that solution. We are an early stage company and raised $1.3m angel round in 2013.

After we launched in Beta November 2014, I have learned a lot and Im hoping to use this blog as an opportunity to learn, grow and hopefully help the next entrepreneur avoid the mistakes Ive made. Most of this will be raw and uncut. I will tell my mistakes and talk about my weaknesses. I will talk about diversity and my views on it.

Upsie is an #insurtech startup so I’m also hoping to talk about what Ive learned working in the insurance industry. There is a ton of opportunity in insurance but I think people are too focused on the wrong things when building a company in this space. But, I will go into that in another blog post.
