Quitting alcohol can be a difficult journey, but the benefits are endless. While most like to focus on surface-level topics like weight loss, saving money, no more hangovers, etc. — all valid of course — I like to dive a bit deeper.

I recently released a YouTube episode on the same topic but wanted to follow up with something for my readers as well. The spiritual growth that can come from quitting alcohol is profound and I want to share that potential with everyone.

First off, let’s talk about the elephant in the room: shame and guilt.

We’ve all been there. Waking up with a pounding headache and a vague memory of the previous night’s events, only to be hit with a wave of shame and guilt for our actions.

But here’s the thing: you’re not alone. Even though it might feel helpless and lonely, there are many that understand the struggle. And I’m not talking about the struggle of having to deal with hangovers.

I’m talking about the shame and guilt associated with not being able to stop once you start. Which leads to bad choices that then lead to more shame and guilt. The problem is there is such a stigma…
