Hatred is a broad social ill. Hatred of women? Misogyny. Fear of/hatred for gays? Homophobia. Hatred of people because of the color of their skin? Racism.

Racism is one of society’s ills that needs to be addressed. Racism is all about skin color. Why not call it what it is? Hating someone because of the color of their skin is the definition of racism. Doing so in no ways says that other social ills don’t exist.

The thing is everyone gets to choose what’s a priority for themselves. For you, the issue is “stupid.” Great. You choose to go and call out “stupid” in the forms of your choosing. That’s a priority for you. That’s what you’re passionate about. For someone else it’s equal rights for women. For whatever reason, they choose to make that their priority. They go out and confront misogyny wherever it raises its ugly head. The same is true of those for whom racism is a hot button. For people who choose to make that their priority, they go and call out racism in the forms of their choosing.

Call it whatever you like, it still needs to be addressed. Po-tay-toe, po-tah-toe. Hatred in all its forms needs to be addressed.
