Cheap beers with great food in Sai Gon

Where to have a cold, cheap beer and great food in district 4, simply drinking and watching people passing by for your relaxed evening with friends?

District 4 is famous for snail, however my today’s article is about “Người 2 Quê”, follow the snail street; you see it on the right side next to Sushi KO. With my expat friend, two of us we ordered the most famous Singapore food: frogs with white porridge (Cháo Ếch).

The most important is ingredients: frogs have to keep alive so their meat won’t be fishy, the flesh will stay firm and sweet.

Frogs are cleaned, dried, then marinated with spices such as soy sauce, dark soy sauce sweet, Chinese Worcestershire sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, onion, cinnamon, Mui Kwe Lu (or Mai Quế Lộ) alcohol. This takes about 25 minutes waiting to be served.

We were so hungry that day, hence we ordered another Thai hotpot which was over for two people. But the broth of the hotpot was so good with fresh vegetables (we didn’t like to have seafood in the hotpot, we asked for beef only, if you can’t eat all the meat, just take them home and cook them with instant noodle for your breakfast ☺).

Another plus point for this traiteur is not too crowded of people as others, so the waiters fully pay attention on their guests. And remember why we love streetfood: cold bottle of Sai Gon red here is only 11'000 VND and Tiger is 15'000 VND, what a cool evening hanging out and looking at young and beautiful people around you.
