Great piece. I wrote about “colour-blind racism” for my MA paper and it is very applicable here. Basically it’s a post-civil rights mindset that racism is now dead, and that discussing racism is itself racist. Gives people with racist tendencies an excuse to avoid discussing racism “e.g. I don’t even see colour, neither should you. If you are, you’re racist.” Stats show that same person is then likely to pick an employee, neighborhood, partner etc. based on race.
