City of South Fulton Community Calendar: Week of July 17

Key presentations on topics that are of high interest among residents of the City of South Fulton are on deck for this week. During Tuesday’s work session, the mayor and council will listen to a presentation from the Transition Commission’s Naming Sub-Committee. The presentation will give elected officials insight into citizen feedback on the renaming of the city.

Additionally, on Thursday, the city manager’s office will hold the first of four meetings to gather citizen input on solid waste and recycling services.

Aviation Speaker Series featuring Captain Donnie L. Cochran

Captain Cochran is the first African-American pilot to fly and command the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron and is a 2016 Georgia Military Veteran Hall of Fame Inductee.

S.T.R.E.A.M. Kids Expo™

Talkback and Town Hall Hosted by Councilman khalid

Councilman khalid will host a talkback & Town Hall after the afternoon staging of Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre’s “Between Riverside and Crazy.” He will be joined by actors, members of #BlackLivesMatter Atlanta, and victims of both gentrification and police violence. The goal of this community conversation is to come up with strategies to address these issues in South Fulton.
