South Fulton Resident Named Fulton County COO
Fulton County Manager Dick Anderson has named Anna Roach, a resident of the City of South Fulton, as the Chief Operating Officer of Fulton County. In this role, she will be responsible for oversight of all of the County’s public-facing departments and agencies.
“Anna’s leadership and acumen as an administrator made her a natural fit for this role,” said Anderson. “She is an innovator whose contributions to Fulton County have already accelerated our progress in areas of behavioral health, justice, and performance management. I look forward to her continued success in this new role.”
Ms. Roach has served as Fulton County’s Chief Strategy Officer since July 2015, was responsible for developing and executing the County’s strategic plan, establishing the County’s Strategy and Performance Management Office, and managing county departments through strategic transitions.
“I’m excited about the challenge of this new role and the opportunity to continue serving the people of Fulton County,” said Roach. “I appreciate the support of the Board of Commissioners and the County Manager. Together our team is making a real impact in the lives of our citizens.”
Prior to joining Fulton County five years ago, Ms. Roach spent 14 years as a criminal defense attorney and consultant to government agencies. She served as an Administrative Law Judge in the City of New York, and worked as the head of the Legal and Policy Unit in Office the General Counsel, for the Mayor of the District of Columbia. She later served as a consultant working for clients including Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, the Georgia Division of Aging Services and the City of East Point.
Ms. Roach earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Cortland, and a Juris Doctorate degree from St. John’s University, School of Law.
