Higher Salaries for Denver

Not to sound like a broken record, but Denver’s economy is growing to be one of the most dynamic in the country. Our blog post, Built in Colorado, discusses some key contributions to this growth.

It’s not surprising to hear that with this growth, especially in the startup world, Denver tech workers are highly sought after, and hard to find. Some companies are making drastic changesto appeal to highly skilled developers, engineers, and everything in between.

However, the most notable change for Denver tech workers is their salaries, which are increasing.

Recently, the Denver Post published an article about tech salaries in Denver, which included 77 actual salaries of different tech jobs in the area. According to the article, tech salaries in the Denver area have increased between 2–8% in the past year. The top tech jobs, like Chief Information Officers, are seeing the 8% increase, with their salaries ranging from $175,000 to $260,000 this year. However, all positions for tech jobs are seeing more money.

Denver is still not on Silicon Valley’s level, which according to the article pays tech workers about 25% more than Denver. However, Boulder startup founder Todd Vernon says that the salary in Silicon Valley may be higher, but, “your life is going to suck.”
