Greetings from Ancient Corinth!

Its long been a dream of mine to put as many push-pins into an atlas as possible and I thought it would be nice to share some of those push-pins with you!

Temple of Apollo in Corinth!

Feast your eyes on the Temple of Apollo at Corinth! For all those experiencing an odd sense of déjà vu at the sound, I suggest finding that dusty old Bible at your parent’s house and flipping somewhere near the back. That’s right 1st & 2nd Corinthians does in fact share a name with this wondrous city, which the Apostle Paul wrote a few words to the Christians living there, Ah Sunday School…

That being the most church some of you will get in a year, I’ll save that soapbox for later date. Corinth was…well… it was hot, so very hot. And lots of walking. But for a city that stood between mainland Greece and the Peloponnese (learn some geography why don’t you) by definition it had to be beautiful with the immense coastline in all directions (check out that panorama if you don’t believe me!)

Walking through the streets of the ancient city was pretty cool though not as big as I would have thought. But the best thing about the ancients was their constant need to fear for their lives , so much so they felt like it would behoove them to build strongholds everywhere. And as promised the remnants of a giant fortress loomed over us the entire time we were walking around the city.

I just had to get up there!

The bus finally pulled around to take me to my castle. Being a relatively short guy, the opportunity of feeling taller than anything else is almost irresistible and this fit the bill nicely. We spent a good chunk of the afternoon climbing on the walls of the medieval citadel, much much longer than our tour guide wanted us to. But enough from me… just check out the pictures, they speak for themselves.

Go Wander!
