Seems like a study “following a competition” doesn’t contradict the premise at all. I’m not a huge fan of the “positive thinking” concepts because they seem like they could backfire, but doing the test right after someone wins or loses seems designed to have reality completely overwhelm positive thinking efforts. This isn’t really evidence that you might not want to hype yourself up before instead of after a competition or job interview. I never heard anyone, even in the blogosphere, tell you to do power poses after a bad interview.
