Very interesting. Setting aside the obvious problem with network fees that you may or may not have already figured out a way around, the economics of of this service make me scratch my head. If that fee of 1000 (satoshis?) is a fair example, then that ping costs the tester 3k satoshis plus network fees.

Is there really a market for IT professionals’ devices to pay that, per ping, when services like pingdom allow them to do it the old fashioned way for free, or at least have a free level of service for throttled usage?

Regardless, I think it’s a very clever system.
