Yes, I’m sure that we are in a similar place in life. I love this place. I once feared it but I am free, at last. I no longer fear the pain because I know it will teach me something precious and open me more.

The second half of life is the half in which we grow most quickly, if we choose. We’ve learned what’s most important. Time has sped up. Remember when we’d line for summer in elementary school only to grip about having nothing to do halfway through the second day? Now I yearn to spend 24 hours awake and aware.

I’m excited to find another companion on this road. You needn’t travel alone, although I know a Medium companion isn’t the same as a sibling.

I am learning so much from you and from others our age…I’m 61. It is fun, gratifying and stimulating to discover similar souls at a similar place on this pilgrimage called life. I love your humor and wisdom. I look forward to learning more from you.

Thanks so much for your very thoughtful and kind words about my poem. I wrote it at a time when I was literally coming back to life, when writing was something I thought was in my past. Redemption is sweet.
