Galatians 5:22–23// But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

But the fruit of the spirit is love. The sentence could end there and would remain grammatically correct. Instead, Paul continues by adding the sprinkles, whip cream, and cherry. What do our daily lives look like? Are they days filled with love, joy, and peace? If not why not? God calls us to have these characteristics overflowing to the point that they rub off on everyone around us. Remember we are the light of the world (Mt. 5:14–16). Nothing in this existence should be able to bring us down. That isn’t to say we won’t experience hardships, sorrows, and tribulations because these are guaranteed. However, our demeanor supersedes our circumstance. We have to be confident in who we serve, having faith that who we serve is greater than the world. That includes our circumstances. Today before we start the day, let us sit and really consider what it means to walk in the spirit, and what attitude we carry.

Godly Love.
