Feeling Up Your Profession

Crafty LinkedIn headlines to describe how you feel about being in your craft

I have a LinkedIn connection who has a pretty cool headline — Mad about Marketing — which was the reason I reached out to connect with her in the first place. That got me thinking: how can other professions leverage this formula to showcase how they truly and uniquely feel about their craft? Here are a few headines that I don’t believe have been taken yet.

Reverse-Letterman style + 1:

  1. Pissed about Procurement
  2. Seduced into Sales
  3. Primed about Project Management
  4. Intimidated into IT
  5. Hooked on Horticulture / Husbandry
  6. Abducted into Accounting
  7. Obfuscated into Operations
  8. Bullied into BPO
  9. Falling for Finance
  10. C-Sectioned from Corporate Strategy
  11. Lusting for Law

1. Pissed with Procurement
Judging from the way most of these Purchasing professionals interact with their vendors.

2. Seduced into Sales
If you’ve been lured by the fantasy of sexy commissions and the road warrior lifestyle.

3. Primed about Project Management
Gantt charts and responsibility matrices psyche you up!

4. Intimidated into IT
If you didn’t really plan on embarking on a career with computers but faced social pressure to do so or were duressed into avoiding any other profession.

5. Hooked on Horticulture / Husbandry
For those addicted to plant and/or animal breeding and making a living out of it.

6. Abducted into Accounting
Such a stereotypically boring profession it has to resort to kidnapping in order to grow and maintain its workforce.

7. Obfuscated into Operations
Wha?

8. Bullied into BPO
Sometimes these Manila call center recruiters who literally hire candidates off the streets (Recruiter to Passerby: Psst, buddy, want a job? Passerby: Uhh, what kind of "job" did you have in mind?) transform into thugs when they’re desperate to staff up an incoming campaign.

9. Falling for Finance
The CFO organization is the most romantic place in corporate headquarters. Chocolate hearts and roses all over.

10. C-Sectioned from Corporate Strategy
You were born to make five- to 10-year company growth plans.

11. Lusting for Law
Yeah, because barrister libidos are at an all-time high.
