The following speech was written and presented by a 10 year old boy. I am printing it with his permission.
Today I am standing here to tell you the qualities I have to be your next house Captain. To me, standing up here is an honour because the moment I participated in my first sport’s day here at this school, I knew that I wanted to be House captain. The qualities I have to be your next House captain are: – I am a good leader. I have a LOUD voice so I’ll be good at war cries. I have good sportsmanship. I will never give up. I am really groovy. ( he dances at this point in the presentation ) So now you have heard all about me. It is now about you.
The qualities I am looking for in you are: Never give up. I don’t care if you’re fast or slow, strong or weak, tall or small. I just want you to try your best till the end of the race.
If I become House Captain you should know that it will be my mission for all of you to have a magnificent sport’s day.
Thank you for listening to my House Captain speech. I hope you will vote for me.
