Bitcoin appeared in Belarus

The future is here: from now on you can pay for purchases by cryptocurrency in Belarus. Though using only bitcoin and only within the one major network for the sale of automobile tyres with related products and services. The project conpay was implemented in conjunction with the Consensuslab blockchain laboratory. The corresponding information came out in the Facebook group dedicated to the blockchain development in Belarus.

Apparently, this is the first case of using bitcoin in our country for the purchase of goods. Earlier, the National Bank announced the opinion according to which cryptocurrencies in Belarus are outside the legal framework, that is, they do not have legal force, for example, during the court case examination.

The trade network commented on the situation: “We are going to accept payment for the amount equal to the sales slip or the work-order. As per the Belarusian law, we cannot grant goods, so we give a 99% discount to the client. The customer has to pay 1% by money. The rest is given by bitcoins. As for our taxable base, we will indicate the amount corresponding to the 100% revenue of the slip or the work-order.”

This means that the tax is paid from the full amount of the purchase, which must comply with the law. The company representatives note that cryptocurrencies in Belarus are not prohibited, and their status of being outside the legal framework means that the risks are borne solely by the company.
