From an economic point of view, there is a very strong argument for legalising prostitution. Regulate it and tax it like any other business. But as you stated in your piece, there is no simple answer.

I think the major argument against prostitution is that while there are many men and women who make the conscious decision to become sex workers, there are equally many more who are coerced into prostitution. The question is how do we ensure that we have a system that ensures that the most vulnerable do not become sex workers out of coercion?
