When summer rolls around, you don’t always know what to expect. How will your kids handle no school? What vacations will we take this summer? Sure, all of that varies, but one aspect of summer never wavers — the heat. You know it, and so do the organs in your body. The summer months are HOT, and you have to make sure your body is ready for it.

What’s the best way to do that? Stay hydrated! We know you’ve heard it, but believe it. Your body needs to stay hydrated while in the heat. How can you do that easily? We have created some tips just for you.

1. Drink, drink, drink. You need to consume six to eight glasses of water each day. Does it sound like too much? It’s not if you balance over your entire day. You’ve got to have the water to help your body function, keep your body temperature in check and get out the waste.

2. What do you do at your desk all day at work? If you are sitting around, you probably would like something to sip on. Bring a water bottle to work. Sipping water throughout the day will certainly help get to those six to eight glasses.

3. Do you feel like you are lagging or moving a little slower today? That’s a great sign you need water. Studies have proven that people instantly become more alert, aware and responsive after drinking water. Don’t let a lack of water turn into an unproductive day!

4. Obviously, water remains the go-to to get hydrated. But, you have other options, too! Seek out and eat water-rich foods such as yogurt, fruits and vegetables. Include them in your diet, and you’ll start feeling much better in the heat.
