CosmicDrift Game NFT Asset Reveal!
We’re thrilled to be finally able to reveal details on the NFT assets we’ve been working so hard to put together for our community! With the release of our first set of NFT character assets, we hope to establish ourselves, our project, and our vision in this space. And carve out something special for the years to come.
For the uninitiated, Cosmic Drift is a P2E MMORPG-based NFT game based on the core principles of blockchain technology. Players will be able to use NFT character assets in-game to interact with the world. Great care has been taken to create NFT assets that are distinct and function in line with story elements in-game to create an immersive and rewarding experience for players. These True Ownership NFTs are used in the game to the maximum possible extent, which means you can buy NFTs for a price and upgrade them as you play. These upgraded NFT assets can then be traded and sold for a higher value.
We have 3 main types of NFT Assets
Types of NFTs
1. Characters
Each player will be assigned a character based on the NFT they bought while entering the game. For early supporters, these NFT characters will be available at a much lesser cost due to whitelisting.
2. Weapons
Weapons can be brought into the game as NFTs. Players can buy these NFTs from the whitelisting sale as well. With further progress in the game, the players can either buy upgrades for weapons or access them by spending their XP points.
3. Rune Books
Rune books are a very important part of the game. These books help players learn new abilities within the game, acquire new skills, and acquire new magical affinities which can help them progress in the game. These rune books are critical in providing a varied and detailed combat system.
We’ll be focusing on our first NFT Character Asset drop for the first season of CosmicDrift called Lokarie Dungeon in this post and how we aim to bring benefit to early on boarders.
Our NFT character assets are built to reflect the environment they’re summoned in and the Ferment Host Lord they’ve been summoned by. In the case of our first drop, the environment would be the Lokarie dungeon and the Ferment Host Lord would be Ifstrath. For this reason, our first drop is called the Lokarie variant. This drop is going to be of limited quantity to provide early on boarders an additional incentive to buy this variant. With every upcoming drop, this variant will get rarer and therefore increase in value.
In-game NFT character assets
Players will be entering the game using their purchased NFT character assets. These character assets are completely playable and can be upgraded, have their abilities scaled and value increased by constant engagement with the game and world lore. We call this “rewarded immersion”. With players that are heavily invested in the lore and gameplay being constantly rewarded for engaging with all aspects of the gameplay and story. This is also to encourage players to immerse themselves in the world we’re building and reward them for their time. This will also serve to discourage players from assuming this is a pay-to-win game. All players start off with the same weapons and magic, though their stats might differ depending on what armor set they’re wearing, overall gameplay ensures a level playing field in the beginning.
Which is a long way of saying, the earlier you are onboard and the more time you spend in the game the more rewards you can expect.
Characteristics of NFTs
1. True Ownership of NFT
True Ownership gives the ability players to use their own assets in the game. Each NFT can only be used by the owner, is secured by blockchain technology and is attached to the wallet of the buyer. Since every transaction is on the blockchain, anyone can verify the true owner of an NFT token.
2. On-Chain Upgrading(Evolution)
Players can redeem XP to upgrade their NFTs. These upgrades would help in the following ways:
- Increase the player’s NFT Character assets power
- Add to their ability and skills
- Evolution of characters
- Creation of higher valued tradeable NFTs
