Introducing : Weapons
The realm of Ralov is populated with many creatures to hunt and foes to vanquish. Find out what players can expect when it comes to in-game combat mechanics as we explore our first set of customizable, scalable and upgradable weapons.
The civilisation of the Kalibras was built atop the blood and bones of their own people. Having brought themselves to the brink of collapse before the 5000 year long age of peace referred to as “The Undying Silence” the Kalibras spent most of their time feuding with factions amongst themselves. These many warring parties would advance their weapons technology with each passing conflict to one up their enemies. As it is in war, it is often the party with the bigger stick and the knowledge on how to deploy that stick that wins. Though the use of weapons would be minimized during the age of the undying silence, their study and constant drive to improve weapons technologies would remain unextinguished leading to an arsenal of various weapons for offensive and defensive capabilities being deployed to maintain peace within their realm. These weapons would eventually be used in the civil war that ravaged the realm of Ralov.
In-Game
Players will have access to three main categories of weapons :
- Single Handed Weapons
- Double Handed Weapons
- Autonomous Weapons
Each category of weapons will include multiple offshoots of weapon types and classes which can be mixed and matched depending on each individual player’s playstyle. Our list of weapons is continuously being developed and expanded upon with many different kinds of weapons down in the pipeline. Currently we will be bringing in a variety of :
- Swords
- Crossbows
- Longbows
- Hand blasters
- Projectile based weapons
- Shields
These weapons will come in single handed and double handed variants with each weapon having unique affinities, abilities and attributes.
Skill Tree
These weapons will also come with their own independent skill trees that will allow players to spend skill points on weapons to upgrade and unlock certain abilities and moves specific to each weapon. In addition to weapon upgrades players will also have corresponding single, double handed and long range weapon use skill trees that they can upgrade to increase their overall proficiency with certain weapon classes and types. Each weapon comes with a corresponding attribute list that can complement a player’s overall stats if matched correctly or even cause negative effects if not paired appropriately.
Weapon Levelling
While skill trees can be used to unlock different moves and increase proficiency with a certain weapon. Weapons can also be upgraded overall through a levelling system and tier based upgrades that will not only cosmetically alter weapons but also boost their overall stats making each tier more powerful than its predecessor. Certain tier upgrades can also come with completely new abilities and special moves.
Smithing and Crafting
Eventually we will also be introducing a comprehensive smithing and crafting system in-game which will allow players to collect materials and smithing blue prints to create new weapon sets or upgrade existing ones with full weapon customisation options.
Enchantments
Weapons will also come with their own magical properties and affinities allowing players to enchant weapons with runes and magic to create more powerful versions of their weapons that can be used to defeat certain enemy types with opposing affinities. These enchantments can also come in the form of new moves and special abilities specific to each weapon and its corresponding ability.
Itar boosts
Every weapon comes with a defined number of itar slots that can be increased in number with certain upgrades. These itar slots hold the itar element which momentarily allows a boost in the offensive and defensive capabilities of each weapon.
The future of the realm of Ralov is in your hands. Are you ready to answer your summons?
