They were not.

Our charges went up 800% without a minute of warning, after months of beta testing (which included Firebase cost analysis and extrapolation, of course).

The amount of cost increase varies from a trivial percentage for the majority of customers, to thousands of percent for others, depending on the nature of the application.

Firebase ABSOLUTELY could and should have analyzed the impact of the pricing change (or “billing bug fix”… what you call it is irrelevant) on an individual customer basis, far in advance of implementing it.
