Emerging Prospects PART III

The 3rd session of Emerging Prospects Invitational Camp is now complete. The camp was based out of Lakepoint Sporting Complex in Emerson, GA. Players came to learn, compete and take away some gems that will assist them in reaching their goals.
OUR GOAL IS TO INSPIRE PLAYERS TO COMMIT TO EXCELLENCE, PERFORM IN COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENTS AND DEDICATE QUALITY TIME TO BUILDING IN-GAME TRANSLATABLE SKILLS.

UP NEXT

2024 Christian Anderson, 5'2" (GA) handled bigger defenders very well at this stage. The sharp shooting point guard was very efficient and showed skill beyond his years with elite PNR reads and advanced passing out of pressure. Anderson has high level written all over him but we didn’t see any tattoos. He defended well also against guys 60–70lbs more. Not too many players are as well rounded at 11 years old.

2023 Kanan Carlyle, 5'9" (GA) has a killer instinct when once tamed, can be a long term two way threat. The combo guard is very confident, is a willing defender and is competitive as they come. Outside of being a leader that makes his teammates better his shot must get more consistent to keep an advantage.

2023 Seth Fitzgerald, 6'2 (GA) May be the best defender and rebounder at his age. Fitzgerald is gifted with timing and instinct that earns his team extra possessions, easy points, and ultimately wins. The rim protector/defensive stopper is becoming more comfortable handling the ball and getting his shot off. Once that part of his game evolves, he will continue to be a value -add to any lineup.
BREAKOUT PLAYERS
In attendance we had some breakout players Saxby Sutherland, Keith Robbins, Fabian DeSilva, Amir Green, Kolbe Ashe and Corey Gibbs.

2022 Saxby Sunderland, 6'1"(DC), a big guard with nice feel for the game. Sunderland, possesses a quality shot and utilizes a shifty handle to create advantage along with his athletic frame. Plays extremely well off the bounce and is a scorer. Getting teammates involved and shot selection must improve.

2022 Keith Robbins 6'2" (GA), a shooting threat wing that can attack closeouts with crafty counters and finish with various floaters. Defending his position and scoring off the dribble outside the paint must improve.

2022 Fabian DeSilva, 6'3", Woodland High School Freshman had one of the best bodies at camp, with solid shooting mechanics and is a downhill threat. In order to continue to project, DeSilva must improve his activity on defense, tighten up handles and be more vocal on both ends of the court.

2022 Amir Green, 6'1" (GA) is a shooter with a herky jerky game a la Jamal Crawford. As an instinctive scorer, becoming an efficient playmaker and a floor general are improvement areas that increase his odds at being a recruitable Division 1 Student Athlete, good news is that he plays competitively in the Spring/Summer at the 17U level.

2022 Kolbe Ashe, 5'10"(NC) has speed, confidence, a tight handle and a solid 3 point shot. The pass first point guard made an impact all weekend on the undefeated TEAM KNOX. Although, high risk passes may make onlookers question his IQ, Ashe makes plays, completes plays and defends well. Reading PNR and shooting off ball screens are suggested priorities for Kolbe over the next 18–24 months.

2022 Corey Gibbs, 5'11" (GA) is a solid strong guard that can create advantage with a speedy first step, a variety of hesitation moves and a reliable shot. Gibbs needs to crank up his motor, stay engaged, and keep working on and alertness to make that leap.

EMERGING PROSPECTS TOP PERFORMERS

David Thomas, 6'2" (GA) showed up ready to make a statement. Defensively, David’s motor never shut down and he rebounded outside of his area in each game. Play after play, Thomas was aggressive using his unmatched explosiveness all while allowing the game to come to him. One on one, he is a tough matchup with stepbacks, spin moves and pull-ups as part as his arsenal. He was our RR ONES Champion defeating a qualified bunch.

Bruce Thornton, 6'1 (GA) got it done on both ends. Thornton is a gamer and a very hard worker. Using the camp atmosphere as a litmus test for his playmaking and shooting off the dribble, Bruce played within himself and when it mattered most, Thornton took or created a high percentage shot. His mild mannered approach and decision making skills instills confidence in his teammates. Look forward to the Milton HS point guard to make some noise this season.

With Canada basketball on the rise, this up in coming player is at the forefront of the North’s continued impact on basketball as a whole. At 6'6, with a6'9 wingspan, Elijah Fisher displays elite athleticism at such a young age. Fisher can score it in a variety of ways however he is a down hill attacker. Over the years we’ve seen his confidence sky rocket. He makes tough shots and displays advanced combo moves. As he develops more range and speed to make people miss rather than go through and over defenders he will get harder to stop.

Devin Farrell is fresh off of winning National Jr. NBA 3pt Shootout, competing in the Jr. NBA National Championship and an overall stellar Jr. NBA Tournament performance, he made an appearance at EPIC and had lots of moments. In the Best of the Best game he went on a personal 12–0 run with (4) 3ptrs in a row. As a hybrid guard and true Swiss army knife, Farrell can shoot, handle, defend 1–3, and make plays.
