The issue is that what you are describing as fringe, are not fringe under any reasonable meaning of the term. Because “fringe” is clearly a vague term, isn’t it best to allow any speaker that is invited by a student group speak and then politely question them or hold counter-viewpoint events for this interested in learning why the speaker is wrong. Why does anyone need to be shouted down or disallowed from speaking on campus?
