CryptoPets Beta: So How Do You Play?

It’s not about the size of the FAQ, it’s about what you do with it…

Hey CryptoPets fans!

We finally sat down and wrote a helpful guide for you to figure out how to get your hard-earned money into our Ether wallets.😜

Head on to https://www.cryptopets.co and give it a try!

How to Play:

Have a computer with internet
Download the Chrome, FireFox, or Brave browser (or Tor, but only if you wanna be on a list). No… CryptoPets won’t run on Tor… but thanks for ruining the “joke”.
Go to MetaMask.io and add an extension to your browser (Chrome | Mozilla FireFox)
Follow the steps given by MetaMask to set up your “Digital Wallet” that allows you to access our blockchain-enabled application.
Store your Seed Phase and Password somewhere safe because this is where your pets are stored. (or throw it into the digital wind, we don’t care… we just can’t help you get them back if you lost it — your call)
Once your account is created, go to https://www.cryptopets.co/Home/

OK. I’m IN. What now?

Go to the “Adoption Center” to buy your first CryptoPet.

Go get that Heatyena… we know you’ve had your eyes on it

2. Click “Adopt” and a MetaMask Notification window will popup or be in your MetaMask browser extension.

We don’t know what it is either, don’t ask.

3. Submit the transaction on MetaMask to buy the pet. Note: Check your gas price before purchase: lower gas is cheaper, but you risk not having the transaction confirmed. It doesn’t much matter in Testnet where everything is FREE.

4. If you don’t have “Test Network Ether”, click “Buy Ether” and it will take you to a website to get some for FREE. (Note: This is literally the only time a statement like this will be true, just remember it’s not real ETH)

This joke is amusing for multiple reasons, enjoy.

5. Once adopted, it will appear in your “My Pets” Tab. Note: Ethereum transactions take from 20–30 seconds (on average) to confirm.

Try figuring out how big they’d all be in real life.

6. Click the “Login” Tab and then Click the button that says “Sign in with MetaMask.” You will be promoted with a MetaMask notification. Click “Sign.” Note: If your Login fails, refresh your page and try signing in again.

7. Go to the “To Battle” tab and press “Create game” if you want to make a new game or “Find Game” if your friend already has a game open.

8. Select a Pet, wait to be matched with another player (you will see a hash value appear when you’ve matched: 0x5673e..), then click “Ready.”

9. Battle!

Note: You can surrender if you end the game. If you forget to play your turn, the other player can “Declare Victory” after a certain period of waiting time.

Here are some additional tips for the Beta from Feedback we’ve already received:

Perhaps the battle gets stuck, for some reason, you can perform a “Hard Refresh”. Mac Users can do this with “CMD + SHIFT + R”. Windows / Linux users can Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button at the top of the window.
