Cryptocurrency Airdrops — How to collect your tokens?
Since a few weeks, I’ve launched a cryptocurrency airdrops telegram group (join using this link: https://t.me/airdropcryptocurrency)in which people can participate in legit airdrops and earn for free (a bit effort). In this step-by-step tutorial, I’ll explain how to collect the tokens you receive from the airdrop & how to add them to your MyEtherWallet.com wallet.

How to check if you’ve received tokens from a cryptocurrency airdrop?
Before adding a token, it is good to know if you’ve received tokens from an airdrop. Most of the times it takes one to two months before you receive from the airdrops. The reason for this is that after the free cryptocurrency airdrops, the token has an ICO, which may take weeks.
Step 1. Determine the ETH address you used for the airdrop (example: 0x19e75455d5d0688f7d3f93824a5082ff6bb41f2b)
Step 2. Go to https://ethplorer.io/
Step 3. Fill in your ETH address in the field ‘Enter tx / address / token name’ and click on the submit button next to it ‘Ethplore’ & you’ll see on the right side Token Balances. If you see a token there, it means that you’ve received tokens from the airdrop.
Extra: you could also simply bookmark this URL (to go directly to this page) https://ethplorer.io/address/[address], replace [address] with your address. Example: https://ethplorer.io/address/0xad640689e6950b7453729a4686edb3fdfd754426
Note: When participating in an airdrop, you don’t have to follow the Telegram groups to know if you’ve received anything. Instead, you could also just check your Token Balances from time to time. On the same page, you could also see the date of when you’ve received the tokens from the cryptocurrency airdrop. In some cases, however, it can be a requirement to remain in the Telegram group of the token (this will be addresses as a requirement by the token’s developer team).
How to add tokens to MyEtherWallet.com wallet from a cryptocurrency airdrop?
After checking if you’ve received tokens from the cryptocurrency airdrop, the next question is how to add the tokens to your ETH address. This section will go further from the last step mentioned in the previous section.
Step 1. Click on the token on ethplorer.io (so for example, on IOSToken in the picture above under Token Balances).On this page, you’ll find the contract address, symbol & decimals.
Step 2. Open in a new tab the MyEtherWallet website (link: https://www.myetherwallet.com/), and click on ‘view wallet’. Afterwards, access your wallet.
Step 3. Click on ‘Add Custom Token’ (green rectangle in the picture above) and fill in your Token Contract Address, Token Symbol & Decimals from Step 1.
Step 4. Click on the ‘Save’ button. The token is now added to your wallet.
How to send your tokens from the cryptocurrency airdrop to a different wallet / exchange like Bittrex, Binance, Kucoin etc?
After checking if you’ve received the tokens and adding them to your wallet, the next question is: how to send the tokens to another wallet / exchange? Before doing this, I would recommend you to evaluate the value of the token. If the project is good, you might be better off by holding the token for a few weeks/months more in your MEW wallet. For example, XLM has had an airdrop in the past (Yes, Stellar Lumen).
Step 1. Click on Send ETH & Tokens in the upper menu of MyEtherWallet.com. Afterwards, access your MEW wallet.
Step 2. Fill in your deposit address of the token on the exchange, and the amount you want to send (for example 100 IOST). Click on ETH (select field next to the input field of Amount), and select IOST. Fill in a Gas limit, or do not change it. Click on Generate transaction and confirm that the filled in address & amount is correct by clicking on ‘Send Transaction’.
Note: it is possible that some exchanges haven’t listed the token yet. You can look at coinmarketcap.com to see which exchange have listed the token. In the case of IOST, you can look at this page: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/iostoken/#markets (if you cannot find the token on coinmarketcap, you’ll have to wait a bit longer).
