Hololoot’s CryptoZoo: The NEAR Zebra 🦓
The CryptoZoo is the hottest place to be in the metaverse, with representatives of all corners of the blockchain to be found in one location. It’s a busy place, but there’s always room for one more!
Today we meet a crypto creature that’s strength comes from its adaptability. Seamlessly integrating and blending in with others, its clever camouflage makes it one of the most versatile animals to call the metaverse home.
We’re talking about none other than the NEAR Zebra 🦓
Life is tough, and survival requires the endless evolution of better and better techniques for preserving one’s self. There’s no ‘best’ way to survive either — some animals favor brute strength to scare off enemies and subdue prey, while others evolved to live in difficult-to-reach places like the tops of trees. But of all the different ways to ensure survival, none is quite as impressive as the act of camouflage.
The NEAR Zebra is one such master of illusion. Much like their real-world relatives, metaverse zebras prevent attacks from roaming predators by grouping together to let their distinctive stripes confuse the would-be attackers. While this tried and tested method of protection certainly works, the NEAR Zebra takes it to an entirely new level.
First observed by data-mine prospectors Alex Skidanov and Illia Polosukhin, the NEAR Zebra possesses the unique ability to not only blend in among other NEAR Zebras but even among herds of entirely different animals. In fact, NEAR Zebras can often be seen among the Etherhinos, their unique interoperable camouflage leaving their presence largely unnoticed.
Whether with other Zebras or integrated into groups of other animals, the NEAR Zebra is remarkably fast and incredibly organized. Like so many crypto creatures, the NEAR Zebra can coordinate incredibly large herds by delegating decision-making to smaller sections of the overall group. Cryptozoologists have drawn parallels with the way herds of Etherhino gain consensus, however the NEAR Zebra seems able to perform this marvelous action at a much larger scale.
Perhaps the most bizarre camouflage achieved by the NEAR Zebra is their ongoing presence among Polkadot Flamingos. While it seems impossible that four-legged mammals would be able to exist among a group of birds, NEAR Zebras have managed to integrate and adapt fully to the Flamingo’s ecosystem.
With such incredible camouflage, NEAR Zebra populations are predicted to swell. And as they adapt and integrate into more and more animal populations, their appeal to fascinated cryptozoologists will only increase as well. Keep an eye out for the NEAR Zebra in the CryptoZoo — they might be hard to spot.
