Thanks for commenting! I have used Gather Content. I’ve mainly used it for clients who have multiple people that need to be involved in the copywriting process. I think our challenges, for copy, with this project stemmed around an open number of feedback rounds. So I’m still on the fence about keeping that open for future projects.
Re: budget. This was a fixed cost project and a billing schedule was agreed upon as part of our contractual agreement. Since price was agreed upon at onset, the risk of the client refusing to pay was quite low. We did, however, encounter a few times when the client said “that’s not quite right”, which is why we went through several rounds of art direction. In our contract, our scope was defined as “we will build you a new responsive website and integrate it with a CMS”, so we were happy to work on getting the art direction right, by our standards and the client’s, so that they were set up to use the components we created to launch new pages or updated versions of pages as they needed moving forward. Designing and building the site based on a set of components is what helped us during those times. The core of our work remained the same, but the art direction got tweaked and revised. This kept us away from page by page updates.
